How to flash/upgrade Zenithink ZT-180 ePad firmware (ROM)

Some of the tablet Zenithink ZT-180 users were asking how to get this tablet upgraded, and now, the following passage will show the detailed steps. Hope it is helpful!

This tablet (Zenithink ZT-180) can install WinCE and Android 2.1 OS firmware.

1. Download firmware zt180_USBburntool.rar ?including burning tool and USB driver?

click b urning tool for download

zt180_up_android_2.1_20100804.rar (including firmware) or 20100809 version

click flasher for download

2. Connect with computer and install USB driver

3.Open ANYKA, the burning tools software double click“burntool_v07.2.exe”

4 click “setting”according to the view

5,Pls choose the procedure according to the view,then click save

if you wanna install Android 2.1 firmware, in the red box choose file (u-boot.img?zImage_cui?system.img and userdata.img)

the setting procedure is as follows

If you wanna install WinCE firmware, in the red box choose files (u-boot.img and zNK.img)

Then click “save” button (at the bottom of the small window, there are two buttons, the left one is the “save” button).

Burning WINCE software, the setting procedure is as follows

Start burning software

When using for the first time, installation process will be suggested,make choise as below.

Device 10 will turn green after the connection

i tried to update my ZT-180 EPAD using the 1020 Zenithink ZT-180 Firmware & Installation Video Tutorial given on zenithink.us websitewhich is similar to the one posted here. After THE proCeduRe was completed, i turned off the epad by pressing the power button for 10 seconds (as instructed) but when i restarted, it got held at the “e pad” screen at the start. it is not moving ahead i.e. the desktop is not appearing. i am worried, please help

Update Method:

Open software burntool_v07.2.exe, connect the tablet with computer through USb, then press menu and power on button at the same time, computer will find a new hardware, install the driver which is located in “USBburntool” folder. After driver
installed, a green box will show up

3. Set Up Software

Click “settings”, a small box will show up as following picture shows, if you wanna install Android 2.1 firmware, in the red box choose file (u-boot.img?zImage_cui?system.img and userdata.img)

If you wanna install WinCE firmware, in the red box choose files (u-boot.img and zNK.img)
Then click “save” button (at the bottom of the small window, there are two buttons, left one is save button).

4. Update

Click “start” button, update will start, after progress bar shows 100%, update finish. Then plug out USB cable.

5. Turn on your tablet and enjoy…

but how do I get the driver for Windows 7 to work with…when plugged to my PC, Windows 7 states that the device driver is not compatible….

I am also searching for the Usb drivers. All the sites I am refereed to do not have drivers.

Only worked when I installed android. I couldn’t install windows ce using znk.img. The pad stopped in the second screen.

Today i have plan for instal winCE in my tablet (Zenithink ZT-180)

When i Download the file in http://www.shenit.com/resources/zt%20flash.rar

should be (u-boot.img and zNK.img) but in the file (in file .rar) in which there is

(zImage.img )

is it the same? please help: D

Or do you have other operating system ? for this tablet ?

And when i instal the winCE , is it support touch screen, wifi drivers, and vga drivers? whether everything is installed automatically?

I downloaded Secbulk.sys using burntool and when im up to the part that you browse and find the file it wont let me access it i dont know if i downloaded something wrong or im doing it wrong.
